Oral Presentation:

Presentations should aim to engage the audience, to create interest, seek feedback and encourage further enquiry.

Time: Oral presentations will be 15 minutes long. All sessions will be allocated 20 minutes, inclusive of introductions and question time. Session chairs will be keeping strictly to time and scheduled order.  A full paper is not required for submission.

The presentation room is equipped with the following:

  • Projector
  • Screen
  • Lectern Desktop Computer
  • Lectern Microphone
  • Laser pointer

Submitting a presentation file 
Presentations must be loaded into the room you are presenting in prior to your presentation. Please ensure your presentation has been emailed no later than 7 days prior to the WGIC2024 (being 5pm, Tuesday 27 August 2024). Individual laptops will not be permitted. Please be aware that “Notes” view will not be available, please bring these on a device or print for your session.

Below are the instructions for emailing your presentations through. We still recommend you bring a backup on USB stick.

Please send your presentation file to Tessa Campbell (tessa.campbell@auckland.ac.nz) noting the following:

  • Slides are best created in 16:9 aspect ratio to fit the screens appropriately.
  • Videos need to be imbedded (no links)
  • Powerpoint (no google slides or pdf)
  • Name the file with Day 1/2_speaking time_your name_Video/no video eg: Day 1_2.00pm_John Smith_Video
  • If your file is over 6MB or contains video please consider using We Transfer to send the file https://wetransfer.com/  

Recording: Oral presentations will be recorded during the congress and provided for on-demand viewing post event.

Publishing of Papers: It is the authors responsibility to ensure that all data and images referenced or reproduced in their paper/abstract has all necessary rights and approvals authorised by any and all relevant bodies. The submitting author gives permission for their paper to be published in the Congress proceedings. Copyright remains the property of the authors of each paper.

PhD Poster:

Posters encourage direct engagement between PhD students interested to share research to a wide audience, in a personal setting. Posters will be mounted in the open space available to attendees during breaks.

Poster Format:   Posters shall be printed by presenters A0 sized in ONLY portrait orientation (841m wide x 1189mm tall). A0 posters in landscape orientation will NOT be accepted.

WGIC will supply appropriate adhesive for posters printed on paper or light cardboard.
